Some races matter more than others. Whilst a child may think winning the egg and spoon race is important, time and experience of life will soon teach otherwise. Come to that, this is probably true of most races, all except the one that matters most.

The race that really matters is your ‘life race’. Run it with kindness and a good direction. It’s easy to start a race but it takes conviction and perseverance to finish it. Many start the Christian life of faith with good intent but sometimes they get hijacked and leave the path.
‘You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you’ – Galatians 5:7-8
If this fits your situation, there will be people cheering you on and calling you back on track. If you listen carefully, you may even hear the call of God when the competing noises in life are turned off so that you can tune in.
